Urgent Fundraiser for the Cat Sanctuary
I do usually aim for a Saturday mailing but, for a myriad of reasons, I’m even shorter of time than usual at the moment. More about why in a minute!
PLUTO INTO AQUARIUS
Firstly though, I know the astrology world is slightly obsessing about Pluto moving into Aquarius, which happened in the early hours of this morning, followed almost immediately by Mercury coming out of shadow –
Sunday 21 January – GMT
- Pluto ingress Aquarius (2nd of 3 times) 02.36
- Mercury out of shadow 08.27 Capricorn 03.00
There’s no doubt that these slow moving giants changing sign makes for significant shifts and transitional moments, and this one is especially huge as it’s the second ingress, which would normally be the last. But because of Pluto’s elliptical orbit he’s particularly slow moving right now, so this is going to happen again.
Here’s a reminder of what Pluto’s very slow journey looks like, crossing 29 Capricorn/0 Aquarius not three times but five –
|23 March 2023
|Ingress Aquarius for the 1st time
|Returned to Capricorn
|1 January 2024
|Starts the year at 29.21 Capricorn
|Ingress Aquarius for the 2nd time
|Turns Retrograde 02.06 Aquarius
|Returns to Capricorn
|Turns Direct 29.38 Capricorn
|Ingress Aquarius for the 3rd and last time
I’m personally not saying much about this event in the weekly blog because there is so much coverage out there already. There are some great features to read, and far better researched in terms of what this has meant historically than I can add to anyway.
If you’re not already a member then you can find these features and so much more on my Facebook group The World of Astrology –
The best feature posted in the group so far that you’ll find there is from Lynn Holt. Sally Kirkman has also written a post but you may need to go to her own page to find that.
One interesting example btw of Pluto (control, wipe out!) in Aquarius (technology, artificial intelligence) is that I now use Admin Assistant on that page. The Assistant decides what is junk and nearly always gets it right lol. If something is left to me I’m now really strict on what I allow and what I don’t. It’s the only way.
So I’ve clamped down hugely on boring junk, advertising, irrelevant material or just general rubbish and am focusing on returning that group page to its original point, a forum in which to discuss how astrology shows for us in our own lives and in the world around us.
You’ll find daily posts from me there too, and on Instagram if you prefer, which are definitely starting to generate interaction and comments, so I rest my case.
IS PLUTO RELEVANT FOR YOU INDIVIDUALLY AT THE MOMENT?
The other reason am not focusing on Pluto in Aquarius right now is because it’s such early days for this journey, Pluto will be travelling through Aquarius for the next 20 years, but do sit up and take notice if you have natal planets or Angles at 0 degrees Aquarius, and between now and May if you have natal planets or Angles at anywhere between 0 and 2 degrees Aquarius.
You are only having Pluto transits when Pluto reaches exactly the same position as your natal ones. So if for example you’re an Aquarian born halfway through your sign then Pluto transiting your Sun is still another ten years away.
If you have ANY planets or Angles at 0 DEGREES OF ANY SIGN – then this Pluto activity will be relevant to you individually too, especially the opposite sign of 0 Leo. For all other signs check to see what aspect is being made. For example, the transit would be by sextile to anything at 0 Sagittarius, by trine to anything in fellow air signs (Gemini & Libra), by square to anything in Taurus/Scorpio and so forth.
THE WEEKLY BLOG
So my first job on Sundays is to write the blog for the coming week. Today it’s my second job as am finishing this newsletter to you all first!
The top hallmark of my weekly blogs, that readers comment on all the time, is that they’re crammed with info and this one will be no exception. I’ll be focusing on a stack of aspects involving the personal planets, including –
- The love and money planet Venus changing sign, moving into Capricorn on Tuesday
- The Full Moon at 5 Leo on Thursday
- King Charles’ horoscope – his Ascendant is 5 Leo
- Synastry – relationship astrology and compatibility – Camilla also has her Ascendant at 5 Leo! What are the odds of that happening and what does it mean?
- Uranus turning direct next weekend (been retrograde since end of last August)
- Mercury out of shadow – what does that mean? – and at full speed, making the third and final conjunction with Mars

JUPITER DIRECT – MOON/JUPITER
Back to the reasons for less time than usual, when Jupiter turned direct at 5.35 Taurus that was bang opposite my Neptune 5.46 Scorpio. Jupiter as the Greater Benefic is known for things like luck and opportunity but he’s also the Protector. These two sides are shown in his rulership of Sagittarius – the adventurer – but also Pisces, who is co-ruled by Neptune. The combination of these two planets often shows as work that links to compassion, suffering or rescue.
On Thursday evening we had the monthly Moon – Jupiter conjunction, and this one fell at 6 Taurus. The Moon is such a powerful highlighter pen in terms of zooming us in on timings, narrowing down a time margin for the showing and therefore meaning of a bigger astrological event.
On Thursday evening I had noticed that one of my “bins cats” – the strays who I feed and look out for, who live in the bins at the end of the road – was deteriorating fast. My name for him is Nondas. I’ll spare you the details but I really thought he needed to be put to sleep. He’s rake thin and I saw suffering in his eyes as he struggled to eat.
I went back the next day and managed to bag him and he stayed at the Cat Sanctuary overnight on Friday, run by Evie Soldatos. Yesterday the plan was to go back and get him and take him to the vet. This however turned into a futile exercise as he’s gone into hiding under the big bed in the outdoor “cat cave” (large, warm and sheltered for cats that need to be contained away from the others).
When Evie left me alone in the cat cave for a while he ventured out. The next thing I know he’s lying alongside my leg, purring, and then wolfed down a load of chicken bits that I’d taken with me. He totally trusts me. Maybe he’s rescuable after all. The plan now is to leave him in the cat cave for a few days to stay warm and on good quality soft food, and then try again for a vet visit.
I’ll go back this afternoon and am expecting progress with Mercury now out of shadow – will Nondas come out of hiding (shadow) for Evie?
Is there anything coming out of the shadows in your own life today? Pay close attention to unfolding events if you have anything close to that Moon – Jupiter conjunction at 6 Taurus, or 8 Capricorn, the degree at which Mercury originally turned retrograde in the middle of December and to which he returned this morning.
FULL MOON IN LEO – THE BIG CAT
Twice a year, on the Full and New Moons in Leo, I try to do a big shout out for Evie and the Cat Sanctuary, which is in fact just her own home. As I’ve just been up there two days running I’m rather shocked at the pure number of cats that she’s caring for. The problem is that people bring the injured or needy and then don’t come back for them.
All of Evie’s income goes on these rescue cats, on food but more importantly on the vet bill. It’s a massive credit to her that all of these cats are sterilized. She showed me the receipts for the last round of payments, but has now run out of money again. There is still 600 Euros outstanding at the vets so that is the sum I’m aiming to raise for her now –
Every Euro counts. Thank you in advance.

MOON SIGNS – CONTINUED
Taken from my book Essential Astrology I’m serializing the Moon signs, continuing today with Libra.
Essential Astrology (previous titled Be Your Own Astrologer) has been relaunched under the new title by Cico Books. Here’s the link for the paperback or kindle version on Amazon –
NATAL MOON IN LIBRA
The Moon in the Venus ruled sign of the Scales learns about relating from a very early age. Good parenting teaches equality and sharing skills, in a home environment that is safe and harmonious, enabling the child to enter adult life with emotional maturity and healthy self esteem.
These qualities are exceptionally important for this Moon as “the other” – the other side to the Scales – is a primary need. The opposite experience, when a child learns that others always come first, can have disastrous consequences, fostering enfeebling dependency and a “someone is better than no one” approach to their love life.
One of my Moon Libra clients, now in her fifties, has literally never spent more than a few weeks out of a relationship. In spite of my frequent assurances that she would naturally meet and attract new partners she has never been able to put this to the test.
After every inevitable break up it is straight back to on line dating clubs and ads. When these Moon people turn into serial daters it flags up the real issue of needing some single time in order to discover their own true sense of self.
Libra’s link to beauty and fashion is also important and these individuals need to feel relaxed in their home or office, and happy with their looks, clothes and accessories. Usually there is an eye for style and some of the world’s most famous designers have this Moon, including Louis Vuitton, Pierre Cardin, Hubert de Givenchy and Miuccia Prada.
