Mars and Venus both have to struggle through the Saturn – Uranus square before they unite on the other side, as we’re heading for a Venus – Mars conjunction at 19 Leo on 13 July. What’s suggestive right now is that there are hurdles to overcome and the phrase “the path to true love never ran smooth” leaps to mind!
Even if someone makes you think that their difficult life is your responsibility, it isn’t. One of the most important things that astrology has taught me is the fact that we’re all on our own journeys.
Why is this backdrop to the year considered to be so difficult? Firstly it’s between two slow moving planets, secondly they’re in Fixed signs (less negotiable), thirdly it’s not a one off confrontation but a three legged event, fourthly the two planets involved stand for opposing principles so it’s a mismatch in lots of different ways and last but not least they’re coming together by square (tension, friction, incompatibility issues).
Eclipses get mixed press but basically they’re points of significant change that often involve power issues and/or the crux points of triangular situations, ie as symbolized by the intricate relationship between the three bodies of the Sun, Moon and Earth. Who is going to overshadow whom?
