R.I.P. DIANE KEATON
5 January 1946 – 11 October 2025 (aged 79)
Absolutely one of my favourite actors, Diane Keaton was part of my growing up. I was 19 when Annie Hall came out and blew everyone away. The film was nominated for the top five Academy Awards and won four of them, including best actress for Diane Keaton. It’s regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made, ranking 31st on the AFI’s list of the 100 greatest films in American Cinema.
Diane was 31 when she starred in Annie Hall so she would have been having her Saturn Return (age 29 – 30) when she was cast for the part, especially written for her by Woody Allen. She was already an established actress, including the role of Kay in The Godfather, but everyone remembers her for the iconic Annie Hall.
DIANE KEATON – NATAL CHART
Classic for a Capricorn to make their mark on the Saturn Return. How symbolically neat is it too that her Moon sign is quirky Aquarius, in that stunning Kite formation (trine Neptune Libra on one side, Uranus Gemini on the other and opposite Pluto, who is the “handle” of the Kite). What other Moon could do justice to the Annie Hall character – intelligent, ahead of her time, different, original, a unique fashion style of men’s suits, blazers and hats. Pure Aquarius.
Capricorns are also known for ageing beautifully and she certainly ticked that box too. The news today simply states that her health had been failing in recent months and that she’d been private about her condition.
Looking at her horoscope we see Jupiter at 23 Cancer today has just cleared her natal Saturn 22 Cancer, and that Chiron 25 Aries is opposing her natal Jupiter at 25 Libra, conjunct the 12th House cusp (Placidus). Chiron the Wounded Healer can often show at times of illness and Jupiter in terminal illnesses is the liberator, the release from the physical body.
Diane Keaton lived her life to the full, with her final acting role just last year – and leaves us this message in her own words:
