Horoscopes
Sorry, in the true spirit of a retrograde Mercury (writing) in Scorpio (the esoteric) there is no weekly column for the time being.
The monthly column with Network She continues and November stars will be up later in the week, including a general overview of the month:

What’s happening this week?
The main news is that we are currently in one of those three week periods of Mercury, planet of all communication and information, being retrograde. (I’m looking forward to the “I forgot about the clocks going back” stories.) These times are often characterized by mystery or secrecy and these issues seem even more pronounced as this time Mercury is backtracking through Scorpio – in a nutshell sign of all things hidden, intrigues, affairs, the underworld, the sex/life/death cycle and the use/abuse of power.
The day after Mercury turned the news headlines were on the subjects of phone tapping and drug smuggling. This morning’s BBC headlines, “Spanish media say the US National Security Agency secretly monitored 60 million phone calls in Spain in one month” and the News of the World phone hacking trial begins at The Old Bailey, including charges of concealing evidence and making corrupt payments to officials on top of listening to private voicemails. The trial is due to last for months but the astrology would indicate that whatever emerges in two weeks time, when Mercury switches to direct again, could be pivotal.
Scorpio is also linked to forensics. “DNA tests have confirmed a Bulgarian Roma couple as the biological parents of mystery child Maria, found in Greece last week.” (BBC)
As above so below, but given that you are neither a drug smuggler nor a phone hacker what is the message? Firstly, choose your confidantes wisely. If in doubt, keep something to yourself. Don’t take anything, or anybody, at face value. Don’t agree to anything that you are uncomfortable with. Just say no.
Retrograde Mercury is also classic for transport problems (never buy a car under a retro Mercury!) and another headline for the UK is a major storm creating havoc. The message here is clear – if you don’t have to travel/commute, don’t.
Err on the side of caution, in all things. This is underlined by the first aspect of the week, a Mercury – Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, exact Tuesday evening. This is the second of three – the first was 8 October and the third will be 26 November. These dates bracket the unfolding of any situation that is characterized by the retrograde Mercury/Scorpio themes. Saturn in on the act generally symbolizes the inevitable, the things we can’t change or the workings of authority.
The second half of the week is dominated by a complex pattern being played out between the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Uranus and Pluto. Long, dragged out situations reach another milestone as Uranus squares up to Pluto for the 4th time (4 of 7, March 2012 to June 2015) and the other three other planets all play into that square. Some drama seems inevitable, notably in connection to themes of “somebody is lying”, the true version of events being questioned, people changing their minds about important issues, how people pull together in a crisis and how opportunities for making healthy/unhealthy decisions present themselves. Answers may be of the kind that sneak up on you, even if they can’t be actioned immediately. There is no doubt that the powers of the unconscious are at work.
The theme of big change is all wrapped up for us at the end of the week with a New Moon on Sunday, which is also a Solar Eclipse at 11 degrees of Scorpio. Just to remind you, in astrology eclipses tend to act as power points, signaling events that are designed to throw shadows and then lift them again to reveal a new picture. A lot of things will start to fall into place next week, during the buildup to Mercury turning direct again, but for now tread carefully, delay important decisions and buy yourself time.
